Selection Process
The selection process under Indian Army SSC Technical Men Recruitment 2026 is based on the following stages:
- Shortlisting of Applications: From what I have seen the Integrated HQ of MoD (Army) shortlists applications based on the cut‑off percentage, for each engineering stream. Applications must meet the cut‑off percentage, for the engineering stream to be selected.
- Allotment of Selection Centre: Shortlisted candidates receive an email. The email tells each candidate the SSB centre.
- SSB Interview: The Psychologist, the Group Testing Officer and the Interviewing Officer will run the SSB Interview, at Prayagraj (UP) Bhopal (MP) Bengaluru (Karnataka) and Jalandhar Cantt (Punjab). From my experience the SSB Interview lasts five days.
- Medical Examination: Candidates must take a fitness test. The medical fitness test will show whether each candidate is medically fit. The medical examination uses the medical fitness test to decide fitness.
- Joining Pre-Commission Training Academy (PCTA): From what I have seen the candidates recommended by SSB and the fit candidates receive the joining letters. The academy issues the joining letters in the order of merit. Based on the vacancies.

- I recommend you submit the applications online at www.joinindianarmy.nic.in. Do not send paper forms.
- Click ‘Officer Entry Appln/Login’ → Registration (skip if already registered).
- After registration, click ‘Apply Online’ under Dashboard.
- Go to ‘Officers Selection – Eligibility’ and select Short Service Commission Technical Course → Apply.
- Fill in personal, communication, educational, and previous SSB details carefully.
- I review the entries, on the Summary page. I click Submit when the entries are correct.
- After submission, take two copies of the application with Roll Number.
- I will carry one copy to the SSB interview.
